PLUS-SIZE STYLE: How To Wear a Jumpsuit

Hello lovelies! This past monday, my friend Sidi sent me this “…any advice on how a ‘big’ gal like me would look in a jump suit….should we wear plain ones or printed ones?”
I am a recent convert to jumpsuits. I have admired them for ages but never quite got up the courage to wear one until recently (see post here). What made me steer clear of jumpsuits was the fear that it would not flatter my body. When choosing a jumpsuit, follow the guideline below.
1. It should flatter your body.
A suitable jumpsuit for plus-size girls should flatter your curves rather than draw unnecessary attention to them. For a more flattering look, choose fabrics that drape over your curves instead of clinging to them.
2.  Colours
Solid colours are the safest bet for plus size girls. Dark colours like black will make you look slimmer. However, you can go for bold colours like reds if you are looking to make a statement.
3. Patterns and Prints
Big patterns tend to call for attention and should thus be restricted for those parts of the body that you want to draw the eye to (i.e. those you want to show off). If you are unsure of how you will look in prints, choose small ones that aren’t too loud.
Extra Tip: Add another statement piece that is sure to draw the attention away from your printed jumpsuit if you are feeling a bit shy like blogger Chastity did above with the yellow shoes (follow her blog for more style inspiration for curvy girls).
4. Length
If your trouser legs are too long you will appear shorter and bigger. Invest in a pair that doesn’t sweep the ground as you walk. Pairing the jumpsuit with heels will make your legs appear longer and give you a more slimming effect.
Always Remember
Like any other outfit you would wear, choose one with a pattern, colour, fabric, and overall style that you absolutely love.
