If a year ago someone had told me that I would prefer flat shoes to heels I would have thought them mad.
There was a time when 98% of my shoes were heels. I think I owned a few flat shoes that I wore once in a while and others that I just didn’t wear. But as I get older and spending more and more time on my feet, I have realised that I am opting for more and more flat shoes. I have been told that flat shoes don’t help you walk elegantly, but I am determined to overcome this “myth” and prove the naysayers wrong.
I shared this post some time back on how you can look stylish in flats and ever since then, I have been trying to step up my game, trying to keep my outfits smart even though I am wearing flat shoes.
One of the best tips I can give you for looking chic in flat shoes is to buy dressy ones for more formal outfits and to acquire other more casual ones for more relaxed outfits. I have found that round-toe and pointy-toe flats are great for those times when I want to dress up a bit more.
Without further ado, these are the flat shoes (the dressier ones first) that I currently own.

All these shoes except the turquoise ones were thrifted. I’m living on a tight budget (saving for something big) so if I have opted to shop at local markets (Bus-Station is my favourite for shoes) before opting for newer, more expensive ones.
Have you tried flat shoes instead of your standard heels? What was your experience like?
