Last Friday I met one of the people who really inspire me. I met Carol Odero of Drum Magazine. She also writes a column on the Sunday Nation which is how I got to know of her. Carol is a lovely lady who has no airs at all!!! A good friend/ mentor told her about me and my blog and she said I could contact her. I was so scared of calling her because she’s so well established in the fashion industry and here I am a girl who’s only knowledge of fashion is what she reads on blogs and on online versions of InStyle Magazine and what she sees on celebrities. I was petrified!!! But on meeting her, it was so easy to talk to her. She wasn’t at all unapproachable. We had a good chat and she encouraged me to continue following my passion for fashion.
As it was Friday (dress, down Friday anyone!!!) I chose to wear black jeans and this white blouse that I bought last weekend when I was hanging out with mum. The blouse has navy blue buttons which make it so pretty. I didn’t want to overdo my outfit because I was heading to the office after my meeting.
It was a little chilly in the morning so I wore a black blazer, which I quickly discarded when the temperatures decided to rise.
I’m more of an accessories girl so I like to keep my outfits simple with unique accessories. I picked the blue of the buttons on my blouse and brought it out with a blue necklace, earrings and ring. As I didn’t have time to change my handbag, I carried my purple bag (which I carried the whole week) and tied this blue and purple scarf to tie in the colours.
My back and leg have been giving me problems so I’m moving towards wedges rather that ordinary heels. I bought these wedges on impulse. I spotted them and remembered how long I’ve been longing for closed wedges to wear to work. I didn’t need convincing as the size was a perfect fit.
I really like dressing up my denim trousers. It’s another excuse to pull them out of my wardrobe incorporate them into my daily wardrobe.
