5 Pairs Of Shoes Every Woman Should Own
When it comes to wardrobe basics, shoes play a huge role. You can’t have the perfect outfit without a pair of shoes to complete the outfit. While anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely LOVE shoes, I think there are certain styles that must be in a woman’s wardrobe. Then, you can build around these and get what I will call fluff pairs of shoes i.e. those you don’t actually need but you add just for variety.
Without further ado, below are the 5 pairs of shoes every woman should own.

1. Simple Heels/Pumps
These are the most basic heels, preferably in black. You can wear this to the office, for a night out or to Church. The length of the heel depends on your personal preference. Basic pumps can be found in suede, leather or patent leather.
2. Flat Sandals
Sandals, particularly of the flat variety are great for the weekend when you want to dress down, or when you need a break from your heels on a hot afternoon while at the office. For more versatility, get them in colours that you can wear with absolutely everything in your wardrobe: brown, black, grey or navy blue. Be adventurous when it comes to styles and instead of going for the styles that are currently on trend, like gladiator sandals, opt for classic styles that you can wear year in, year out.
I wrote this post on how to look chic in flat shoes last year and I still refer to it whenever I need inspiration on how to wear my flat shoes intentionally. Flat shoes are my new best friend. There is such a variety to choose from: pointy toe or round toe, printed or plain coloured, with or without an ankle strap, etc. As with the flat sandals above, neutral colours that can be worn with everything are your best bet. A neutral print like the leopard print will also serve the same purpose.
I am loving the versatility of ankle boots. They can be worn with skirts/dresses and trousers/shorts whose lengths may vary according to your outfit of the day or preference. Ankle boots can also be worn all year round: in the summer with shorter hemlines and in the cold season paired with tights.
If ankle boots aren’t your style, you can opt for calf length or over-the-knee boots.
5. Casual/sports shoes
Casual shoes are another must-have. Think canvas shoes like Converse or Vans or you can opt for a more sporty type like the ones above. These days, casual shoes are not limited to sports grounds or worn with jeans over the weekend. You can wear them with your official trousers, skirts or dresses and still look chic.

One of the things I promised myself I would do, ever since this pandemic started and life slowed down, is that I would dress up every single day. Granted, I had nowhere to go, but putting on an outfit, no matter how simple, uplifted my…
