2019 Resolutions + Life Update

Like every year before it, 2019 has come with a list of goals that I would like to accomplish. Some years back I discovered the importance of picking one theme and applying it to different parts of my life, throughout the year.
Last year, my good friend Sidi and I worked on positivity and I’m pleased to say that I saw quite a bit of a difference come December 2018. I have learnt to always see the bright side of things, to smile and focus on the end goal rather than complain about how difficult the process was.

For 2019, I want to push myself to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. I’m slowly transitioning to full-time work. This means that my life, as I’ve known and lived it the last four years is changing. I’m quite excited about this. It means that I can now work harder on my career goals.
The downside of this is that I have even less time to spend on other pursuits like blogging. Bearing in mind that I haven’t blogged for a while, I feel like this year, I need to try even harder, stop coming up with excuses for not being consistent here and push past my comfort zone.
This won’t just apply to the blog. I’m applying this effort in other areas of my life: in my work, relationships, myself. I’m working on taking a step further than I would have as recently as last year.
A concise plan for each day, week and month will be necessary to keep me organised and help me accomplish all my goals. I have started using a bullet journal. I will share more about my experience and how effective it is at a later date.
This year I want to focus on doing things that feel good to me and not what I imagine society expects of me. I believe this is a big part of getting out of my comfort zone. I have come to realise that to accomplish many of the things that I want to accomplish, I need to stick my neck out more and risk upsetting some people. While I don’t intend to outwardly offend anyone, I don’t intend to apologise for living my life in as best a manner as I can think of.

What are some of your resolutions this year? Do you think that staying in your comfort zone could be keeping you from accomplishing some of your goals?

Thank you for stopping by.
